Phil Minton´s Feral Choir

The workshop takes place in the Reading Room of Unijazz, Jindřišská 5, Praha 1. Entrance is in passage, second stairs, ring bell – ČÍTÁRNA. We start on Saturday 21 Nov at 4 pm and on Sunday 22 Nov at 2 pm. Workshop takes about 4 hours with a voice rest break for half hour. Refreshment available in the bar.
Finale is a concert in the Archa Theatre on 23 Nov at 8 pm. You should come sonner for soundcheck 6.30 pm. 

\"Singing” with Phil Minton

Phil Minton is convinced that the human voice is much more versatile than we would ordinarily believe and that everyone who breathes can sing. As part of a two-day workshop, which begins with laughter and non-verbal vocal techniques, he directs participants to abandon well-established stereotypes and attempt to use their voices in a spontaneous and creative manner, which sometimes even borders on the extreme. The long tradition of these workshops and positive response of participants attest to his success.
What’s more, every workshop ends with a concert. On this occasion the concert will be held
as part of the Alternativa 2009 Festival on 23 November in Divadlo Archa in Prague. Are you tempted to see what you and your voice are capable of, and do you have time
on the weekend of 21 and 22 November? If so, sign up by sending an email to uni@unijazz.cz, with “feral choir” as the subject. Don’t delay as there are a limited number of places.

Summer opening hours in the Reading Room of Unijazz:

Till Sunday 12 July: daily 2–10 pm
13–26 July: we are closed
From 27 July till end of August: daily 4–10 pm

During holidays we are expacting incidental programmes, music films etc. We are going to send avisos by e-mail. If you are interested in let us know on unijazz@unijazz.cz.

Chess tournament in July is not being held. It is possible in August (first Wednesday). It depends on number of interested persones.
