READING ROOM AND LIBRARY
Unijazz's reading room and library continue the activities of the Center for Documentation which was one of the association's clubs. We have been collecting an extensive stockpile of books, periodicals, catalogues, fanzines and other materials related to culture for several years. The archive also holds demo tapes of fresh groups, video recordings of Unijazz events and other audio and visual items. After acquiring more space on Jindrisska street, Unijazz gave access to the materials not only to members but also to anyone interested in what we have to offer. The reading room offers its visitors a selection of the daily press as well as drinks and light refreshments. In addition to services common in reading rooms and library facilities, listening evenings hosted by renowned music critics and musicians are held here regularly. There are also exhibitions, video showings, meetings, lectures, club nights, author?s readings and other events.
Despite that the reading room and library are located on the fourth floor, the services are sought out and used by many people. The location is advantageous - the center of Prague, which is also helpful for out of town visitors.
The reading room and library began full-fledged operation in the first quarter of 1997.
